The course is designed for university graduates in Law, Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Social Science, Cultural Heritage and other relevant disciplines.
It is also addressed to young professionals working in governmental institutions, local authorities, international, non-governmental and cultural and heritage organizations seeking to deepen their understanding of current heritage crime issues.
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
Applications from students who expect to graduate at the end of the 2019/2020 academic year will also be considered.

3. Applicants requiring a VISA (IMPORTANT)
Applicants requiring a VISA are encouraged to apply in accordance with early bird deadlines. Upon payment of the tuition fee, the UNICRI Administrative Office will provide enrolled participants with an acceptance letter. We encourage selected participants to immediately contact the nearest Italian Embassy/Consulate to obtain detailed information on the VISA procedure and documents needed. Please note that it is sole responsibility of the course participants to request and obtain the VISA.
Registration fees do not cover additional expenses such as those related to travel, meals, accommodation and VISA.
As per our general policy, in the case of cancellation of your participation, registration fees will not be refunded for any reason, including Visa denial and health issues.
Given the current exceptional circumstances, however, full refund of the registration fees will be guaranteed should the cancellation be linked to the Corona Virus crisis (i.e. health problems of the participant or spouse/registered partner/children or parents, official travel restrictions imposed by the Government of the country of residence or of Italy, cancellation of flights by the air carrier…). Evidence of such ground should be provided when requesting the refund.
Accommodation is available as follows:
Single room – 8 nights accommodation (5 – 13 September 2020) at the American University of Rome’s apartments.
Accommodation Fees: 300 Euro per person
Prices are intended for single rooms in shared apartments. All costs shall be paid in advance upon registering online (further information on the registration process will be provided by the Organizers via email upon acceptance to the Summer Course).
Please note that refund of accommodation fees is granted only to those participants submitting this request to AUR by 26 August 2020. In the event of a participant cancellation after 26 August 2020 for any reason, including VISA denial and health issues, accommodation fees will not be refunded.
Participants interested in booking accommodation at the American University of Rome’s apartments are kindly invited to fill-in the related section (Section G) in the application form within the deadlines hereunder.
Check-in and check-out:
Check-in and check-out out of these time frames and days is not permitted and there is no option to extend the stay at the end of the programme.
All participants are required to provide AUR with their arrival flight information in order to coordinate the check-in and a photocopy of their passport/ID (photo page) upon confirm of acceptance and room availability.
Please do not purchase any flight/train ticket before receiving the approval of the Summer Course Administrative Office.
Upon attendance of all the lectures and completion of the course, participants will receive a United Nations and the American University of Rome certificate of participation. A participant who misses one or more classes will not receive the certificate of participation. Absence grounded on serious reasons might be considered at discretion of the Organizers.
