 TITLE
DEMOCRACY SOCIETY AND THE GOVERNANCE OF SECURITY
 ABSTRACT
The book’s main aim is to shed light on our understanding of the arrangements for contemporary security governance. The promotion of security is not a state prerogative any more, it is dispersed and takes place not only through practice of states but also of corporations, non governmental actors and community-based organizations. This collection of essays tries to advance different descriptions and explanations of what has been happening and how the recent changes have affected the field of security governance worldwide, as well as to offer different assessments of what is at stake for the future of democracy. ||
